Pleasanton, Texas · Est. 1974
And there is a place for you here.
For more than fifty years, stories have unfolded beneath the lights of Atascosa County Troupe. Some make us laugh. Some stay with us long after the curtain falls. And some begin backstage with a half-built set, a paintbrush, and somebody asking, “Does anyone know how to fix this?”
Coming to the Stage
Fall 2026
But where would be the fun in that?
Our fall production is creeping closer. The cast is at work, the stage is changing, and something may be tapping at the chamber door.
Performances are tentatively planned for November 13–15 and November 20–22, 2026.
Final dates and the official title are coming soon.
More Than a Stage
On the Stage
Plays, comedies, mysteries, youth productions and stories brought to life by performers from our community.
Beyond the Stage
Masquerades, mystery events, fundraisers, community gatherings, special experiences and other reasons to step through our doors.
Behind the Curtain
That doesn't mean nothing is happening.
Sets are being built. Lines are being learned. Costumes are taking shape. Props are appearing in places props probably shouldn't be.
Come backstage for rehearsal photos, production progress, cast and crew stories, sneak peeks and everything that happens before opening night.
The Next Generation
Theatre gives young people far more than a place beneath the spotlight. It builds confidence, friendships, communication, responsibility, creativity and the courage to try something difficult.
Summer
Ages 6–18, including graduating seniors.
Our annual summer program gives young performers a theatre experience of their own, from the first rehearsal through opening night.
Spring
Ages 13–19.
Our spring teen season brings Shakespeare, bold concepts, young performers and maybe just a little Renaissance Faire energy to ACT.
From the Wings
“Theatre is built long before the audience takes their seats.”
Every production begins quietly. Someone chooses a story. Someone opens a script. Someone measures a piece of lumber, searches for a costume, learns a line or walks through our doors for the very first time.
Each month, this space will feature a new message from one of the people helping keep ACT moving forward.
September 2026 · Atascosa County Troupe
Since 1974
Generations of actors, directors, volunteers, families and audiences have left their fingerprints on this little theatre.
We're gathering the photographs, productions, programs and memories that tell the story of A.C.T.
Your Cue
A theatre needs performers, yes. It also needs builders, painters, costumers, organizers, volunteers, supporters, audiences and people willing to say, “Sure, I can help.”
On the Stage
Something is tapping at the chamber door...
Tentative performances: November 13–15 and November 20–22, 2026.
The title remains under wraps for now. Keep watching.

A Tragic Love Masquerade.
An evening created in support of Atascosa County Troupe. More information and ticket details will be announced.
Rehearsal Room
Scripts open. Characters begin to appear. Blocking gets changed. Then changed again. Eventually, somehow, a show emerges.
Scene Shop
Lumber, paint, props, furniture, questionable measurements and a great deal of figuring-it-out-as-we-go.
Costumes & Props
Sometimes the thing that makes a character finally click is a coat, a hat, a strange little prop or exactly the right pair of shoes.
Current Production
As our next production develops, this is where we'll share rehearsal photos, sneak peeks, cast and crew stories and progress from backstage.
Ages 6–18
Our annual summer program is youth theatre from rehearsal to curtain call.
Ages 13–19
A separate teen-focused production season with Shakespeare, creative concepts and room to take bigger theatrical swings.
More Than a Summer Show
ACT's Summer Youth Theatre brings young people together to rehearse, build, create and perform productions of their own.
Along the way they practice reading, public speaking, teamwork, responsibility, communication, problem solving, preparation and time management.
Older students have opportunities to develop leadership and collaboration skills that carry into school, college, interviews, jobs and life beyond the stage.
Dinner Is Part of Rehearsal
Sometimes taking care of young performers starts with making sure they have eaten.
For the past two years, ACT has provided dinner for our youth at rehearsals.
It has become an important part of how we care for the young people who spend their summer evenings with us.
Shakespeare Is Calling
ACT's spring teen production gives young performers a dedicated production season of their own.
Shakespeare will take the stage with a bold concept, a little attitude and a production built for young performers.
And if the timing happens to land around Renaissance Faire season...
Well. We might have ideas.
Audition and production information will be announced as details are finalized.
Our Story
Atascosa County Troupe has been part of the local community for more than half a century.
Across those decades, actors have stepped onto our stage, directors have imagined new worlds, volunteers have built them, audiences have filled the seats and generations of families have made memories here.
We're working to gather ACT's history into one place: past productions, photographs, programs, posters, milestones and stories from the people who were there.
Every old program, faded photograph and backstage story is another piece of ACT.
Have something from ACT's history that belongs here? We'd love to hear from you.
More photographs and past productions will be added as we continue building ACT's archive.
